Apartamento Santa Eulalia Ref. 1126 by Iberplaya

The location and pool were the best parts. AppartBeach agency provided excellent service when we collected the keys, and its office is a 10-minute walk away. The apartment sits on a quiet street with shops, two minutes from beautiful Salou beach and the main promenade. The town centre, restaurants, and nightclubs are about seven minutes away, with plenty more bars and restaurants along the promenade. Shuttle buses from Barcelona or Reus airports stop at Salou bus station, a three-minute walk from the apartment, and we also took one to PortAventura. The complex pool is large, warm, sunny, surrounded by grass, not too crowded, and open daily from 10 am to 10 pm. The woman supervising it was friendly and energetic. The apartment is spacious, with three bedrooms, a sofa bed in the living room, and a large terrace with a table and chairs that fits seven. But despite the location and pool, we were very disappointed. It’s not suitable for seven people and badly needs renovation. The apartment and terrace weren’t very clean, the ceiling and some walls were damaged, and the electricity sometimes malfunctioned. Only the living room has air conditioning, with two fans for the rest, so it got very hot, especially at night. Internet access was very limited, and Wi-Fi cost extra. Doors didn’t close properly. The kitchen is roomy and has a fridge/freezer, washing machine, gas hob, and microwave, but it’s poorly equipped. The hob only worked moderately well, and the kettle and toaster were dangerous. There’s no oven, too little crockery, barely seven glasses and seven plates, and only six place settings. There are three bedrooms plus the living-room sofa bed. Bedroom 1 has one single bed, Bedroom 2 has two single beds, and Bedroom 3 has two single beds and one double bed. The rooms are fairly large with closets and storage, and pillows and sheets are provided. Towels cost extra. There are two bathrooms, one with a toilet, but the showers are in very poor condition. The ceiling is broken, water drains so slowly that the room floods quickly, and the toilet takes literally five minutes to finish flushing. We were quite disappointed, since it’s hard to maintain good hygiene with bathrooms in this state.
