The location is amazing if you want to be near Yumbo center. There’s a supermarket next door and restaurants right out front. The staff were super friendly and helpful, too. But for what I paid for one night, I could have stayed at other resorts for three nights, so it wasn’t good value. The renovations looked cheaply done, with bathroom tile painted over and a broken, cracked sink. It’s listed as having a clothing optional area, and they showed me where it was, but nobody was there and I never saw anyone nude. If nudism is what you’re after, this isn’t the place.

Room 310. I reported the toilet four times, and it leaked for all seven days. The room is looking tired, with peeling paint around the shower and a desk unit in poor condition, with damaged legs and tops. Room service staff were excellent, and the room was cleaned to a high standard.

Housekeeping were excellent, friendly, and very thorough. The black mold in the air conditioning was removed quickly after I reported it, but that shouldn’t happen in a hotel in the first place. The pool music was what really got to me. It was already at full volume in the morning, so reading or having a normal conversation was impossible. I argued with staff about it. Daniel was especially unfriendly, wanted to turn it up himself, and kept saying other guests wanted it loud, even though there were only two other people at the pool then. Loud music later in the day would make sense, but not early in the morning. The hotel is quite outdated, especially the bathrooms. Paint is peeling off the showers and fixtures, and they clearly need renovation. Mixed experience overall: great housekeeping, but maintenance and some staff attitudes need a lot of improvement.

The rooms are cleaned to a high standard, with good air-con and Wi-Fi. The pool is spotless and a good size, and The Ritual is very close to the Yumbo. I didn’t have any noise issues there. The hotel across the road was noisier on the odd occasion because of its entertainment. Reception staff are really nice and helpful. The place could use a little paint here and there, and the young guy who opens the cafe/restaurant in the morning could be a bit more welcoming. Still, I had a pleasant stay and would come back. All the best to them.
