Bungalows Islas Paraiso

The dunes are about a 10-minute walk away, though getting down to the water takes longer and is a bit of a slog through the sand. Near the RIU Palace there's a viewpoint over the dunes that's popular at sunset, and the short walk there is worth it. Shops and restaurants are plentiful, and it's easy to explore the whole island from here. All in all, this is a calm little oasis in the middle of Maspalomas, especially suited to older guests. Our bungalow had a very comfortable bed, a big wardrobe with shelves, a drawer and a rail, plus a safe. The kitchen had a stove, coffee maker, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge/freezer, along with a hairdryer. There were German TV channels and Wi-Fi. The furnishings are practical, though there isn't much crockery. The sofa bed is in the living room, but the seating there wasn't very comfortable. The terrace chairs were the only ones that felt reasonably good. Housekeeping came every day apart from Thursday and Sunday. The pool is inviting, cleaned several times a week, and has plenty of loungers. It's for swimming, with no water features or play area, so the complex isn't really set up for children. There were no children or dogs during our stay. Most guests seemed to be retirees or older people, some staying for a long time. People would say hello and chat now and then, which was pleasant. In the evenings it could get noisy when loud music came from the nearby Cita shopping center, so earplugs are a good idea. The place is small, clean and relatively quiet, but the neighboring bungalow's terrace, number 5, was right beside ours, number 6, which sometimes left us with little privacy. Parking can be tricky. There are four free spaces at the complex and you can get a key, but otherwise you have to look for a spot on the street, and that's not always easy.
