Seaside Palm Beach

⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The warm pool, laid-back feel and handy location were the best parts for us. It was easy to explore Maspalomas and nearby areas, and the restaurant staff were friendly and professional. Our room was cleaned daily, with a pool view and a large, comfortable bed, though the pillows were very flat. In the end, no pillows were available, and we never got a menu. The retro, colorful 1970s look is unusual, so it may not appeal to everyone. The guests seemed mostly older couples, many German and British, and we were likely among the youngest there. There was almost nothing to do, which could leave younger travelers wanting more. On barbecue nights, smells drifted into our room when the window was open. Breakfast offered lots of pastries and sweet things but hardly any vegetables or salad. The tapas restaurant was okay, though not great for the price, and dinner drinks cost extra, so the bill rose quickly. The hotel is expensive, and it often felt like we were paying a bit too much. The bathroom corner setup also meant the floor frequently flooded after a shower. It was upsetting to see pigeons kept in crates on the property. They were fed, but clearly trying to get out, which didn't seem humane. Cleanliness was generally good, though we saw staff drop or break things more often than at other hotels. We enjoyed the pool, atmosphere and location, but with the price and these issues, we probably wouldn't return. Strong 3/5.

Breakfast and dinner stood out: there was a huge range at breakfast, everything was high quality, and dinner was consistently excellent. Staff were attentive, friendly and professional throughout. The setting feels peaceful despite the hotel's size. There are several pools, a wellness area and plenty of places to unwind, especially outdoors. Its retro design is playful while still feeling elegant. Seaside Palm Beach is just steps from the Maspalomas Dunes, among a lovely palm grove. One of the best places I've stayed in Gran Canaria, and a great pick for a luxury stay in Maspalomas.

We were put up here for 10 nights by our insurance after my wife had a serious accident. The staff were incredibly kind. They brought ice packs at 3pm or 3am without any fuss, and the duty manager checked in every couple of days. Breakfast was a treat each day, and the pools were relaxing and well supervised. We also enjoyed a high quality lunch by the pool, with friendly, professional service. We hope to come back when we're able to enjoy the facilities properly.

We chose Seaside Hotel for its wellness facilities, especially the sauna and steam room, and paid more with those amenities in mind. During our stay, a wind event was declared “force majeure”; half the hotel, including the spa, was effectively closed. There were no alternatives or extra opening hours offered. I understand that safety comes first. But with major facilities unavailable, I don't think guests should still be charged the full rate of $600+ a night. The price should account for what isn't available. The response afterward was just as disappointing. The executive team said they'd “look into it,” but I heard nothing back. I had to chase them myself, and was ultimately told there would be no compensation or credit. It felt like a rigid refusal with a shrug. For a hotel marketed as luxury, the way this was handled fell short. Luxury also means dealing well with problems, and they didn't. There are plenty of Maspalomas hotels at this price. I'd avoid this one.
