The buffet could've been better, but the rooms were clean and the staff were great. I’m writing to thank Maite from housekeeping, who went out of her way to help me with something during my stay in April. Thanks, Maite. Keep sharing that kindness with everyone.

The pool was the one real highlight for me as a mother of three. The rooms felt basic and dated, and the hotel is inconveniently outside the city. Breakfast was in an enclosed area that felt like a mall food court, even though the hotel has an amazing view of the city. The staff’s lack of hospitality stood out most. We often felt like a bother instead of feeling welcome. On our last day, I briefly stepped out of the breakfast room to get my phone. When I came back, I was told I couldn’t go in again because another breakfast area had opened. My family was still seated inside, as were plenty of other guests, but I had to carry my breakfast away in my hands because I’d re-entered. For any price, I’d expect more warmth, flexibility, and customer service. This hotel was disappointing.

We checked out a day early, and neither the hotel nor Booking.com refunded the unused night. If you travel with a service animal, I’d think carefully before booking here. The staff were kind and the hotel itself is genuinely lovely, but we wouldn’t repeat this stay because of the gap in staff training around service animals. We came specifically because ILUNION presents itself as accessible and inclusive. Instead, we felt tolerated rather than welcomed. There’s a real difference between a pet friendly hotel and a pet tolerant one. I travel with Harrison, my certified medical service dog, and what happened over two days was exhausting and humiliating, one of the most dehumanizing hotel experiences I’ve had. At check-in, we were turned away from the shuttle. At the restaurant, we were asked to move. Then a lifeguard publicly confronted us at the pool and said Harrison couldn’t be in the area. I explained he’s a service animal and I can’t go anywhere without him. She called the front desk, who confirmed we could stay. By then, we’d already been made to defend our right to sit in a shared outdoor area with a clearly marked service dog, so we left. No one incident was catastrophic, but together they wore us down. The hotel is beautiful, the facilities are impressive, the location works well for getting into Seville, and every staff member we met was kind. I want to be fair about all of that.

The main drawback was the thin walls. We could hear everything next door, and it felt like the children were in our room. We didn’t get time to try the huge hotel gym, which seemed to have everything you’d want and more. José Antonio served us professionally and efficiently. When he heard it was our anniversary, he upgraded us to the newer family rooms on two floors. They had great amenities, including pod coffee in the morning. The hotel’s shuttle to the metro was very efficient, making it easy to reach the center, and free parking was a big plus since parking in Sevilla center is so expensive. Juan Antonio was also nice and very helpful when we checked out. Our stay at Ilunion Alcora Sevilla was decent.
