I was glad I booked Jon's Kaixo Hostel for four nights in a single room. Jon was a great host, easy to reach before arrival and responsive during my stay. At check-in he shared plenty of tips for tapas bars, restaurants and things to see and do, and replied quickly on (Hidden by Airbnb) when I had questions. His advice made my time in San Sebastian even better than I expected. The hostel is right in the middle of the old town, with pretty much everything within easy walking distance. The bus and train station is about a 15-minute walk away, and the beach is just 5-6 minutes away. Although I worried the lively location would keep me awake, the window's soundproofing surprised me, and the two bars downstairs close around 11:00pm, so I slept well. For a single room, mine was more spacious than I expected. The bed was comfortable and the wifi worked well. Guests can use a kitchen to cook for themselves, and there are two bathrooms. With a maximum of six guests, two single rooms and two double rooms, bathroom problems rarely come up. Highly recommended!

The place is clean and has good facilities, and I’d recommend staying here if you want to be in the old town near all the great Pintxos bars. Being so central does mean you hear some of the noise from the middle of the old town.

Such a cute place in an amazing location, and the other guests were friendly and great. The shared bathrooms weren't the best, so bring your own soap and shower gel.

So central and cosy, this is the best hostel I’ve stayed in for a long time.
