Hostal Montaña

The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were lovely. We spent five days in Ibiza with my sister and the hotel was close to everything while still being quiet. I only missed having a way to make hot drinks in the room, though coffee at the bar downstairs was cheap. We had a really nice stay and would come back.

The room was cleaned every day and towels were changed daily. It was also close to the beach, and reception had party offers. But the fridge and TV didn't work, and only shower gel was provided. The walls are so thin that you can hear everything, and many guests seemed to ignore quiet hours. Around 2 a.m. last night, I heard a couple upstairs shouting, arguing, and slamming doors. I couldn't tell whether it turned physical, and I'm not sure whether they were on the second or third floor. Then I heard another man. I couldn't understand what they were saying because I don't speak Spanish. Nobody intervened, and we were afraid to call the police. I didn't feel safe.

I couldn't make my two-night trip because of unexpected, serious health problems, but the Hostel refused to waive the cancellation fee as a one-time goodwill gesture, even given the circumstances. Their replies were very slow and they showed no willingness to help in what I consider an extreme situation. This customer service is shameful, and I don't think they're fit for purpose. Book somewhere else.

After our last day at the beach, the hotel let us leave our bags there and take a shower after checkout, which was really helpful. Prices were affordable, our room was clean and nice, and the staff were very friendly. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.
