Protur Badí­a Park Aparthotel

The beach is right nearby, with warm, turquoise water, and there's plenty of choice for food and drinks. The staff are nice, and activities include archery, rifle shooting, water polo and volleyball, among others. The place is very geared toward families with young kids, though couples and people with older children can still enjoy it. We had a pretty positive stay.

The little ones had a great time, and my three-year-old was happily jumping around at the evening entertainment. We were usually in bed by 10. There were lots of activities on site, a nice hotel, good staff, good food and three pools, one large and two for younger kids. The birthday cake staff left in the room for my partner was such a kind surprise. We were both touched by the gesture. We came with our teenager, three-year-old and one-year-old. The hotel was perfect for the younger kids, but our teenager felt a bit left out. There weren't many other teenagers to mix with, and the evening shows were only okay. Most of the guests were German and pleasant. We saw more English-speaking guests at safari Park. I'd recommend it for a family with young children looking for a holiday with plenty to do on site.

The melon was worth half a star, and maybe the elevator too. That's about the generous limit. The premium pool costs 15€ extra despite the all-inclusive deal, the beach means a walk, and the activities we found were claw machines. Vending machines sit where kids pass, and the only drink dispenser serves sweetened tap water. Coffee wasn't drinkable unless you bring instant powder. Our toddler spent a night vomiting, then the next day had a fever and stomach cramps. The hotel told us it was “just filtration sand.” It was still there, unchanged, and apparently fine. The manager's mix of fiction and formalism was more entertaining than the animation program. Plenty of creativity, no accountability. For 10 nights, we didn't get one decent Iggy sleep. The metal bed frames squeaked like haunted trampolines, lights blinked in the kids' sleeping area, and the room was cleaned only five days a week, never on the day we needed it. The baby pool had no sunshade, and the bathroom had no step stool. The fries were cold, the drinks sugary, and the children's pool looked like it was quietly growing new lifeforms.

The beach is less than a 10-minute walk away, and the bus stops right outside for Safari, the waterpark, Calla Millor and more. Rooms were cleaned often, with fresh towels and the balcony cleaned too. Staff were lovely and spoke English, Spanish and German. The food arrived on time, warm and varied, with nuggets and chips always available for kids who didn't want to try new things. The pool was a little cold, but we enjoyed jumping in to cool off from the lovely, boiling sunshine, and the children we saw loved it too. My partner and I just got back from a week here. We don't mind children, but if you do, this may not be the hotel for you. There were a lot of German guests, and everyone we met was lovely. We thought the rooms were excellent, and we'd absolutely stay again. A 10 out of 10 for us.
