Getting into town takes some planning: the hotel is 15 km from the city centre, and without a car transport could be difficult. The men’s bathroom by reception had a sink that wasn’t working properly either. Inside the room, the lighting was so poor that you could barely see at night. There may be an insect waiting when you walk in, as happened to us. The shower was the worst part, cramped despite there being room for a bigger one. If you like showering every day, you may have a hard time here. Breakfast was poor. After a week travelling around Spain and staying in different hotels, though, I got the impression that breakfast often isn’t given much attention. For a hotel with four stars, it’s hard to see how it even earns two.

For the price, I had a safe, clean place to sleep, so I can’t complain about that. The furniture was old and some things didn’t work, though I still don’t see why this is advertised as a four star hotel. It felt more like a two star. The front desk staff were amazing. Nerea helped us sort out every issue and was incredibly nice and helpful. She’s the hotel’s real star.

The bed was comfortable, and there’s a large parking area outside as well as a garage. The cafeteria was a nice place to get an evening sandwich. Breakfast had plenty of food and different options, but the quality wasn’t what you could get from products at a Spanish supermarket, where good things are reasonably priced. It’s surprising for a hotel that offers weddings and has such nice common areas. Because the weather was changeable, only the heating was available, so we had to sleep with the windows open on the highway side. The noise made that unpleasant. The bathroom also lacked good ventilation.
