Zafiro Mallorca

The resort had a lovely layout, plenty of greenery, and a charming style, although it felt a bit dated. It was very clean throughout, and everyone from the cleaning staff to the waiters was friendly. The wristbands that doubled as room keys and payment were handy, and the 6 a.m. breakfast before departure was a thoughtful touch. The food options were decent, but the quality was poor. The coffee was the worst I’ve ever had, the sausages were bad, and warm dishes like beans tasted straight from a can. Drinks were poor too, with gin and tonics and Aperol seeming watered down. The playground floor was peeling up, and children were playing with the loose pieces. The resort team’s entertainment was pleasant but repetitive, with the same songs, dances, and routines. Some outside acts, like the acrobats, were spectacular. We didn’t pay much, so our expectations weren’t high, probably also because we went in mid-October. We had a pleasant stay, but wouldn’t pick it again.

We stayed seven days on half board, and I can’t say a bad word about the staff. They really seemed to love their work. Our room was spacious, with an open-plan area and kitchenette plus a separate bedroom. Breakfast had a lot of variety, and dinner included themed evenings such as Mexican and exotic food. There were loads of activities for kids, and the beach was only a five-minute walk away. One small thing, it would have been nice to have a heated pool, at least the children’s one, since the sun isn’t strong enough to warm it this time of year. That’s a minor detail and doesn’t change my positive view of the stay.

The staff were polite and helpful throughout, with a special shout-out to Moha and Marga at reception. We were already thinking about returning next year. Traveling as a family with two young children, we found the hotel relaxed and very well set up for families. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival to be upgraded to the penthouse because it was available, a lovely gesture that reflected the treatment we received during the stay. Our room was clean and lovely, with a great pool view. We had half board, and there was a varied choice of food, including something for our fussy eaters.

It was our third stay at the Zafiro Majorca with my parents and two sons, and it was just as good as before. The service, food, and facilities were fantastic again, with nothing I could fault. This time we chose all inclusive, after going half board on our first two visits. The boys loved getting ice cream and drinks, and lunch at the pool bar was great. I’m sure we’ll be back.
