The apartments have everything you need, and the owners are nice. The problem for us was another family’s two medium-sized dogs, which were often running loose and barking a lot. My daughter was very scared, and when I went outside they’d rush over barking at me. Their owners said they were okay, but that didn’t make it acceptable. We had to stop moving whenever the dogs came towards us until their owners collected them. This had nothing to do with the apartments themselves.

Waking up with mountains all around and winding down by the fireplace is such a treat. The quiet, natural setting and views make it easy to slow down and reconnect with yourself. It’s a welcoming place to rest, body and soul, and one I’d like to return to. From the moment you arrive, there’s a real sense of calm and well-being. A perfect spot to switch off from the world.

Mas el Carrer is very well kept and offers good service. The rural house is cozy, with lovely views across the Garrotxa region, right in the volcanic area. Croscat and Santa Margarida are nearby, including the hermitage inside Santa Margarida, which is a must-see. There are lots of well-marked walking paths and country routes, and La Fageda d'en Jordà forest is close too. Besalú and Castellfollit de la Roca are beautiful villages worth visiting.

We spent four days in this secluded country house, about 3km from Santa Pau in the heart of the Garrotxa region. The setting is spectacular, and the spacious accommodation had everything we needed, though it wasn’t luxurious. Check-in and check-out were excellent, and they let us come and go as we pleased. 100% recommended.
