Apartamentos Principe

The apartment's location is unbeatable, and it's spacious and comfortable, but poor maintenance made our four-day stay a bad experience. We had to collect the keys at an inn 2.4 km away, where they weren't even available. They sent us to the apartment instead, and a very friendly girl was waiting there to hand them over. The shower taps didn't work properly, making it hard to shower, and twice the water came out freezing. The electricity kept going out in our apartment, even when we weren't there. The heating wasn't very effective either, so it was often cold inside. Luckily the weather in Santander was good and it wasn't extremely cold. After lots of phone calls, on the third day they finally offered us the apartment next door so we could shower. It's a shame, because the apartment is beautiful and so well located, but that couldn't make up for what we went through.

It's a shame the upkeep is so poor, because this apartment is spacious, clean, and right in the center. Some lights and sockets didn't work, the blinds wouldn't open, and the shower pressure was very low. We didn't dare use the bunk beds because they looked unstable. I hope they sort these things out, the apartment deserves better.

The apartments themselves have been renovated and were clean, and the building's facade looks fresh with a nice design. But the communal areas are old, and the shared courtyards are neglected. You can see the darkness and dirt in those courtyards from the rooms.

A wasted weekend. The furniture was extremely worn, and cleanliness was just about adequate. In the apartment next door, which they also own, it sounded like there was some kind of farewell party. We couldn't get any rest, day or night. When we arrived, there was no one there to welcome us or hand over the keys. We had to cross town to collect them at a guesthouse reception. I'd give it zero stars if I could.
