Hotel Bedoya

For the price, I was satisfied with Hotel Bedoya. The rooms are roomy, clean, and well kept, with comfortable beds, spotless bathrooms, and complimentary toiletries. The room had enough artificial light, though mine didn’t get much daylight because of where it was. Most staff didn’t speak English, so communication was sometimes tricky. I managed with my limited Spanish, but English speakers should be ready for that. It’s a decent base for seeing Santander’s sights, shops, and restaurants, although it isn’t right in the center. The center is about a 15 minute walk away, and the closest beach is around 45 minutes on foot. It’s a good affordable option if you’re after a clean, well-equipped place, as long as you’re not expecting five-star luxuries or English-fluent staff.

The decor is older, but I actually like that. All modern interiors can get a bit boring. Everything was really clean and nicely presented, and it was good value for a couple of nights. Our room didn’t have air conditioning and felt warm, but we still slept fine.

Basic, clean place that worked well for one night before our ferry. Check-in was easy at the hotel across the road, and the terminal was only about a 10 minute walk away.
