We had a lovely, fairly spacious room for our three nights, and it was clean. El Sardinero beach is 500 metres away. A quick 15-minute walk through a tunnel takes you into Santander’s bar district in the center.

The location is very good for Sardinero beach. The room, though, was tiny and the walls were covered in damp. The bed wobbled like a boat, and the bathroom was so humid that I’d wear flip-flops in the shower to avoid catching something. The towels smelled musty.
