Altaïr Hotel

This was the best hotel of our 2025 Camino France. The room was spacious and cozy, breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

After our 11 day walk from porto, we were so glad we’d booked two extra days at hotel Altair. It was a lovely place to finally relax, and easily one of the best hotels of our camino. We had a room with a private terrace, which was so nice with the doors open onto it. The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome. Breakfast was amazing: fruit, croissants, toast, meats, cheese, cereals, great coffee, and Santiago cake, all served at the table. At other hotels we’d had the usual rush to wait for the coffee machine, but not here. If you’re looking through reviews for hotels in Santiago, stay at hotel Altair. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

I stayed here during my Camino and it was one of the best hotels of the trip. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was excellent, and breakfast was great. It’s a five minute walk to the cathedral. My photo shows the private patio of my room. Highly recommended!

We only stayed two nights, but we’re already planning to come back. The ladies running the place were so friendly and did everything they could to make us feel at home, even explaining the easiest and cheapest way to park. Our room was lovely and comfortable, with a great shower, very fast internet, and a/c if needed. Breakfast had a good selection of fruit, cereal, toast, croissant, and cheeses. And it was the best cup of tea we’ve managed to find since leaving England. Thanks, everyone!
