Hostal As Margaritas

We had a nice room here last year, with a big window and a good view, and the three of us were happy with it. This time, as a couple, we got a smaller room with only a ceiling window, which was disappointing, but that wasn’t the main problem. Before arriving, we asked if the Wi-Fi was good because my partner needed to work, and were told it was. We brought it up again at check-in and explained that a strong signal in the room mattered. They said they had Wi-Fi but weren’t sure about our room, and since the hostal was full, there was nothing they could do. As expected, it didn’t work, and he had to use all his data. The bathroom smelled strongly of mould, which was visible in the shower, on the tiles and grout, and in a few other spots. The shower head was broken and fell on me, hitting my head while I was showering. We won’t stay here again.

The room was damp and dank, with a window that wouldn’t close and too much noise. Leaving the dehumidifier on all night did help. The bed was uncomfortable, and the toilet paper they gave me had a stain. The room also looked nothing like the pictures on booking. For how bad it was, it was way overpriced.

Bedbug alert! We spent two nights at As Margaritas in July 2023, and it was on the second night that we realized there were bedbugs. We counted more than five among the bed linen, pillows, and walls, and each of us had over 50 bites. Given the number of bugs and bites, we can only conclude they’d been there for a long time.

Good value for money, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, with a bit of character. A nice little hotel.
