The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and felt safe. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the location is handy for both the train and bus stations. My son and I stayed for three nights after walking the Camino Portuguese Litoral Senda last May. It was good value for money, so I’ve already booked again for April and May 2026. I’ll be walking back-to-back Caminos from Ferrol and Ourense to Santiago de Compostela.

The beds were comfortable, and the room was clean enough, but the walls are very thin. Water from the shower collected on the floor under the sink. The bathroom doorknob didn’t work properly. My friend got locked in twice, once with the door locked and once with it unlocked. We told reception, and they said not to close the door. Later, I couldn’t find my pyjamas until I spotted them underneath the bed and had to crawl under to retrieve them. Reception didn’t seem to care or apologize. There was no effort to put things right. It’s a decent hotel, but the service was zero.

Think carefully before booking here. The room was tidy and clean, but there was noise late every night, maybe from a nearby disco. I had to use earplugs to get enough quiet to fall asleep. I was told bikes could be kept safely in the room, so being asked to put mine in the supposedly secure garage was unwelcome. My bike is EVERYTHING during my stay. The garage felt only semi-secure, and it seemed like someone could get in by pretending they belonged there. There was very little room for bikes, with tiny wall hooks and small cable locks that could easily be unbolted.

The rooms have always been clean and warm in winter, and the customer service is very good. The quality for the price is excellent. H México is close to both bus and train stations, with a short, pleasant walk into central Santiago. I’ve stayed many times over the past three years, and it’s still my first choice when I’m in Santiago.
