The Last Stamp - El Último Sello

The bunk was right beside the toilets with no partition, so I heard people using them and slamming the doors all night. The place was stuffy and stank, and I didn't sleep at all. People kept coming in drunk, crashing around, and turning on the lights. There was no curfew. Easily my worst albergue experience on the entire Frances Way. Avoid it.

The rooms aren't overcrowded, and the building has a spacious layout, a broad staircase, and an elevator, which is a welcome rarity in a hostel. It's also right in the old town, a short walk from the main attractions. Comfort was let down by the air and privacy. The air conditioning was off at night and the windows stayed closed, so it got very stuffy with poor circulation. There are no privacy curtains on the beds, and the lockers beside them take a €2 coin, which is inconvenient if you don't have one. A well-designed place in a great spot, but the air quality and bed privacy could be better.

The reception staff were friendly and helped me work out the bus schedule. The cathedral is close, and the location is handy for dropping off bags. It was very noisy at night, though, since the albergue is right by the main street. After a long day of walking, all the stairs can be a pain. The kitchen, bag storage, and reception are each on different floors. The bathrooms also need some basic repairs. Apart from that, it's fine.

The receptionist was kind and compassionate when I really needed that. Thanks for making it feel safe and keeping it clean. The bunk rooms are separated by gender when possible, which I appreciated. The bedding is proper, and the lockers are the most spacious I've seen on the whole Camino. Even so close to the square, it's quite soundproof.
