The hotel is in a peaceful spot just outside town, and we enjoyed the short evening walk along the side road. The building itself was lovely, with good beds and a nice bathroom, and the pool was very nice. But a couple of the stones along the pool edge are loose and need attention, as they’re very unsafe. Breakfast was the main disappointment: baskets of bread and fruit, with cheese and ham on plates. On weekdays, the ham was straight from a supermarket packet, and the one kind of cheese wasn’t any better. A better self-serve buffet would improve things and waste less, unless all the returned food is being kept. We loved our stay and especially the lovely weekday receptionist, and we plan to come again. Please consider improving breakfast and repairing the pool edging, Hotel Siglo XVIII.
