JOY Setas Coworking

The terrace was lovely, and you could spend the whole day at the Hostel enjoying the view and live music. It's right in the heart of the old city, very clean, with free wifi and a fully equipped kitchen. I'd recommend it to solo travelers and friends traveling together.

The staff were lovely, the shared spaces and kitchen were very clean, and I liked the app check-in with Bluetooth room access. The location is incredible, and the small pool is a nice extra. Still, I stayed mainly because this is promoted as a coworking hostel, and the work setup fell short. There are a few places to work, including tables upstairs and a couple downstairs, but they aren't ideal for a full remote workday. The bar was closed Monday and Tuesday, so there was no food or drink to get onsite. The beds weren't very comfortable either. The biggest hassle was the bathroom situation. Apart from the ensuite in the dorm, there is only one bathroom for the hostel. In an 8-bed dorm, that meant queues, and when the ensuite was occupied everyone had to use the one shared toilet. It's inside a meeting room, which is awkward when people are working or on calls. Even after checkout, if you want to work for the day, that is still the only toilet you can use, through the meeting room.

The hostel was spotless and had a nice atmosphere, right in the city center and close to everything. The staff were friendly, attentive, and ready to help. Rita deserves a special mention: warm, welcoming, very professional, and her personal touch made my stay more memorable. I had an incredible time here.

I went to a doctor, who confirmed the bites were from bed bugs and prescribed treatment. I'd woken up covered in them at the hostel. When I told the manager, she denied there was a problem and even said I should “get informed,” which was extremely unprofessional. It ruined part of my trip. This place clearly has a bed bug problem and won't take responsibility or deal with it properly. Avoid it at all costs.
