Hotel Macia Sevilla Kubb

The rooftop terrace on the sixth floor has a spectacular view, and the hotel is well placed for the old town, about a 15-minute walk away. Rooms were clean and modern, though the pool is small. The air conditioning was my one real issue. It was so poor that I bought a standing fan from the shop across the road to sleep at night.

After a few days out in the busy streets, it was nice to unwind at the rooftop pool, though the bar never seemed to be open. Breakfast was better than I expected, with lots to choose from, and the staff were friendly. The location is excellent. I’d asked for a birthday greeting in one of our rooms because it was my daughter’s birthday on check-in day, but they forgot. Even so, we had a great stay.

Everything was around a 15-20 minute walk away, and I liked the modern room and huge shower room. Having USB ports on the plugs was a nice touch. My only personal drawback was the lack of a mirror by the dressing table and desk. I had to wait for the bathroom mirror to clear after a shower before I could put on my makeup. We enjoyed the rooftop views, but the pool was closed for winter and there was no hot tub. Breakfast is available on site for $15 per person. The hotel bar wasn’t staffed when we were there and seemed a little pricey, so we preferred Bocao, just outside to the right on the main road. There’s on-site parking for $11e a day, with some EV charging and about 15 spaces. Getting in and out was quite an adventure because the spaces are very tight. The hotel is across from a church, around a 10-minute walk to Setas de Sevilla or Catedral de Sevilla and 20 minutes to Plaza de España Sevilla. Rooms are clean and modern. There are no USB outlets, but the safe was cool and the closet spins.
