Hotel Sacristía de Santa Ana

The staff at both the hotel and breakfast restaurant were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, and I’d recommend paying for it. It’s served à la carte at a nearby restaurant from 8:00 to 11:30. Food takes about 10-15 minutes, so allow at least half an hour. The Superior room is spacious, with a decent-sized bathroom, and the air conditioning and WiFi both worked well. There’s a lovely, quiet air-conditioned patio to relax in. The street itself is noisy, though closing the windows takes care of that, and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. For tourists who don’t like a lot of walking, somewhere closer to the center may suit better. One walk to the main sights is manageable, but heading back to the hotel for a rest and then going out sightseeing again in the evening can mean a lot of walking.

We spent five nights here in mid-July, and it was a lovely place to come back to after walking around in the hot Andalusian sun. The air conditioning cooled the room quickly in the middle of the day, and at night we could open the window and enjoy the breeze. The location on the Alameda de Hercules felt local, while still being close to the main attractions and far enough from El Centro. We found hamburgers, pizza, Chinese food, and authentic Spanish cuisine within an easy walk. The Alameda was busy with locals of all ages at all hours, including dog walkers, and my wife felt completely safe going outside whenever she wanted. Our Spanish is weak, but we managed conversations with locals and visitors in English and broken Spanish. The front desk attendants were very friendly and helped us sort out several logistical issues since we didn’t have international phone service. For the price, this hotel is hard to beat. We’ll come back to Sevilla and I enthusiastically recommend Hotel Sancristía de Santa Ana.

We were here for three nights recently. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the neighborhood was lively and fun at night. The hotel itself is beautiful and historic, in a fairly convenient location. Our room was clean and adequate, though nothing special. I’d recommend staying here while visiting Seville.

Be careful booking here. The website shows pretty rooms, but we got a tiny, humid room with no window and no temperature control. It stayed around 90 degrees all night, even in January. The thermostat didn’t work, and the front desk didn’t seem to care. We’re used to roughing it, but for these prices you can do much better. This place can really spoil a vacation.
