Selecta Apartments Los Venerables

I'm posting this here because I found out that my review from last year wasn't published on booking.com. This was our experience in October 2024. The apartment decor was nice, and we liked being within reasonable distance of the historic center. But arriving was a struggle. We made a big effort to get there before check-in, yet there was no sign identifying the place, no one opened the door, nobody was waiting, and there was nowhere to park. We stopped as soon as we found a spot and called before the check-in cutoff. They'd asked us to communicate in English or Spanish, but the person on the phone didn't understand English, so we tried Spanish. When we came back around, someone was waiting and let us in, but didn't explain the lock. She charged us for arriving late even though we were only five minutes past the hour. The lock was extremely difficult to open once the door had shut, and it disrupted our first day. We reported it, but neither the owner nor caretaker fixed it; we only got instructions to force the door. There was no sound insulation, so we heard everything, including doors, toilets, and the building's garage door. The microwave had handprints on it, and there were small blue stones spilled on the toilet floor. We tried going up to the rooftop pool once, but the door was locked and there was no visible way to open it. It rained the next day, so we didn't ask for more information, though that should have been given from the start. The paid parking in the building was very cramped, and pillars made it almost impossible to get in through the driver's side. We'd told them in advance that we had an average-sized sedan.
