Welldone Cathedral Suites

I stayed solo in apartment 2A for four nights and found it very comfortable and well appointed. I’d definitely book Welldone Cathedral Suites again when I return to Seville. The location is excellent: one block from the cathedral, two blocks from the Archivo tram stop, and two doors down from Casa Morales, one of Seville’s most popular tapas bars. The two level rooftop terrace has nice city views, including the cathedral rooftops and La Giralda. There’s no reception at the property, so before arriving I was told to check in at their sister hotel, a five minute walk away. I also got a detailed PDF explaining how to enter the building and suite and use things like the thermostat and stovetop. Staff were always reachable by WhatsApp, and responded quickly when I needed something in the apartment. The unit and common areas were very clean, and daily cleaning was available if needed. The kitchen had everything I needed, plus coffee, tea, and bottled water. It was nice being able to make breakfast at my own pace, and there’s a Carrefour nearby for groceries.

It felt safe coming back late at night because the Seville Cathedral is right outside, and the location is excellent. Still, I don’t think I’d stay here again. My ground floor room had no view of the outdoors. Its only window looked onto the property’s interior hallway, so I couldn’t even open the curtains. I couldn’t tell if it was sunny or raining, which was quite disappointing.

The rooftop view was nice, but it couldn’t make up for the stress and health concerns during our stay. We both have severe allergies, and the apartment had a strong mold smell that gave us headaches and made it impossible to stay. We opened the windows for a few hours to air it out, but the smell didn’t go away. Looking more closely, we found mold in the shower and along the bottoms of the doors, where moisture had even caused the wood to swell, as shown in the photos. We didn’t feel safe or comfortable sleeping there. When we asked to move, there were no other accommodations available, and management refused our request for a refund for the nights we didn’t stay. We left in the middle of the night, at 11pm on arrival night, and had to scramble to find somewhere else. It was supposed to be a special birthday trip for us both. I’m sharing this so others know before booking. The experience was far from what we expected based on the listing.

The location is great, close to everything. We’d booked a standard double on the ground floor, but when we arrived the shower and the overall state of the room made it unlivable. I contacted the property late at night and they responded quickly, were very helpful, and tried their best to find us another room. We were too tired after a long day to move that first night, but the next day they called and offered us another room. Their support was very good.
