La Casa Del Teix

The house had everything we needed for a few days, and it’s easily the best-equipped place we’ve stayed in. We were there as a couple with our four-month-old baby for a fantastic weekend at Casa del Teix. It’s spacious and comfortable, with tasteful rustic decor. The owners were incredibly kind and had the fireplace going when we arrived, along with several thoughtful welcome touches. It did take a while to warm the house. The three radiators don’t put out much heat, and even with the fireplace lit, it was slow. Also, the kitchen extractor fan seemed weak, so the house filled with smoke while we were cooking.

We came with friends and found it an ideal base for hiking, walking, and other outdoor activities. The house is beautiful, but just as lovely for its peaceful atmosphere, a perfect place to switch off. The terraces were marvelous, with incredible views. The owners made us feel so welcome, leaving bread, a traditional Spanish sweet bread, along with butter, jam, milk, olive oil, and other thoughtful things. I highly recommend it.

During the heat wave, the house stayed cool enough that my children slept under the covers. The beds were very comfortable, and the hosts were attentive, bringing us delicious breakfasts at no extra cost. It’s a well-equipped house in a rural setting right in the mountains. They even let us stay an extra night free so we could make the most of the long weekend.

For anyone after nature, quiet, and peace, this is a lovely place, and there’s a barbecue available too. La Casa del Teix is a charming rural stay in Eslida, in the Espadan mountains. Dominique and Myriam are excellent hosts. They’ve renovated an old village house into a peaceful, cozy place with everything you need. On arrival, they leave delicious bread and typical local pastries for breakfast, plus cold drinks, milk, and other breakfast things in the fridge.
