Aparthotel Ciudad Laurel

The staff are always smiling, really friendly, and great with kids. The pools are nice, the beach is just a short walk away for swimming, and we feel completely comfortable here. We’re staying at the hotel right now, and it’s definitely very kid-friendly. We’ve actually enjoyed the food, despite what many reviews say. There’s something different on most evenings, from sushi to gyros and plenty of other choices. There’s quite a bit of fried food, but for a three-star hotel it’s perfectly adequate and good value. You can’t expect four- or five-star luxury.

It felt like a great family stay, and I’d love to come back. The children’s club had activities for ages 4 to 12, I think about four per day. Every evening there was a movie on a big screen and a kids’ disco, which all the children really enjoyed. There were children everywhere, and the large restaurant had enough space for them to play. The pool was big enough for everyone, and the property was very quiet and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. All-inclusive ran from 10 to 18 and included sandwiches, hot dogs, ice cream, cold and hot drinks, slushies, cookies, and fruit. The room had big beds, a cooking plate, microwave, balcony, shower, and one bed in the living room as well as one in the bedroom. The food was cooked well and there was enough choice for us. It could have been more or less, but we ate well, so it was just right.

The hotel was a great place to stay, with very clean rooms and friendly staff. We enjoyed the food too. The selection wasn’t huge, but what was there was good. They had activities by the pool during the day, things for kids during dinner, and something for adults after dinner. I highly recommend it.

The good points were the convenient location, plenty of parking, a nice pool and children’s pool, and friendly, helpful front desk staff during the day. At night, the desk staff weren’t as helpful. The worst part of the stay was the food, which seemed aimed at German guests and was generally poor quality. There were sausages, fatty meat, cheap sugary desserts, and even the salad bar was overwhelmed with vegetables covered in vinegar sauce. It was far below Spanish and European standards. Most children’s activities were also in German, rather than English for an international audience. There are no elevators, and getting into the fitness room was awkward because we had to leave a daily deposit for the key. People started reserving pool loungers at 6:30 am, and nobody enforced the rule against it.
