NWT Central Station Valencia

The beds were good and the bedroom was quite clean when we arrived, though the bathroom was small. The shower couldn't hold a steady temperature, switching from cold to suddenly very hot. There was a cigarette smell as soon as we entered on the first night, and it seemed like the room had absorbed it and smelled that way all the time. Over our five nights, people in other rooms made a lot of noise. Reception was nowhere around, so we had to ask them to quiet down ourselves, but they carried on. Twice we were woken very early after a late night out. One morning while we were sleeping, housekeeping came into our room to clean. I understand that's her job, but I think they should have given us a door hanger sign.

The room was private and had its own bathroom, but we had a rough time when we accidentally left our key and door code inside. The place is central and next to the train station, though it was a little hard to find at first. When we got back at night, nobody was at reception, which felt strange to me. It was our mistake to leave the key, but I expected someone to be available. We called repeatedly and reached voicemail; it took over an hour before we could get back to our belongings. When someone finally came to open the door, they were annoyed and rude. If you've ever forgotten your key card at a hotel, I wouldn't recommend staying here. The walls are thin enough to hear conversations and footsteps, and during the four hours we were resting, the power went out throughout the hotel three times.

The staff were lovely and accommodating. They contacted me ahead of time and replied to my messages politely every time. The bed was very comfortable, though it squeaked a bit when I moved. The room was fine, and I've stayed in much worse. A hot shower and a bed are usually enough for me. We were there for three nights and didn't see any roaches. The main issue was the noise nearby: people talked, laughed, and banged around all night, and we could hear talking and coughing through the walls. It'd help if staff kept an eye on noise, especially when people are making it for hours in a shared area.
