Nexus Valladolid Suites & Hotel

Rooms are clean and very spacious, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was okay but basic, as were the toiletries. The underground parking is very convenient and affordable at €20, but you need to reserve it. The location is excellent, close to the pedestrian area in the centre. All in all, good value for money, and I recommend it.

The location was perfect, and the room was good, but the kitchen had several problems. The fire alarm went off whenever we cooked, both in our room and in others. The kitchen was poorly equipped and missing most basics, including soap and coffee for the machine, and there were only two sets of plates. Wi-Fi was awful, really absent. The bed and pillows weren't comfortable either. In my opinion, this isn't up to a 4-star property standard, and I don't recommend it.

We had a very unpleasant stay at Nexus Hotel Valladolid, and for what we paid, I wouldn't want others to have the same experience. We booked two Deluxe Suites with old-town views in May 2024 for one night in October 2024, and were really looking forward to it. Disappointments started soon after we arrived. Both suites had shower heads that were loose and fell down when used. There was also an electrical socket hanging out of the wall with its wiring visible, and the living-room sofa was marked with dirty stains. Wi-Fi was unavailable through almost the entire suites, working only very close to the entrance door. There was no lounge or bar, and breakfast was limited. The pricing also left us feeling deceived. The website lists a “rate-from,” but it's unclear when those prices apply. The hotel sets the price at booking, which is always higher than the advertised “rate-from.” We were charged €170 per suite when we booked, though on arrival we found €140 was more usual for that period, and the website still showed a “rate-from” of €100. We also got no early booking discount. To top it off, I left my iPhone charger in the suite. Alfonso at reception wasn't prepared to help send it to my home address, so I had to arrange an expensive courier myself. He said there was no other option, although several Spanish websites charge €2.75 to €5.00 to send a charger, which I was willing to pay. I had no choice but to give up on it and buy a new one.

The bed was comfortable, and our room was clean and nice. We could walk to Plaza Mayor in about 10 minutes, and the hotel is right by the cathedral. Having private parking there was really convenient. Roberto on the staff was especially helpful during our stay. A well-deserved four-star hotel.
