The Book Factory Hostel by gaiarooms

The location works really well for me, and the hostel meets my needs, so I like staying here. The amenities are clean, and breakfast is available. There’s also a restaurant/cafe serving meals throughout the day, though it isn’t included in the hostel price.

I’m exhausted and not pleased. The reception and facilities are good, but the whole point of getting rest was ruined by people making noise. One woman was having phone conversations after midnight, and others came in at 1am and 2am, turning on lights, making noise, showering, and setting up beds with awful metal clanking. It started up again at 5am. Management clearly aren’t telling people to be respectful. Someone opposite me was snoring, making it impossible to sleep, and the whole place smelled of farts. By morning, every toilet seat was covered in dried urine. This felt like a crash house for party guys and urban carelessness. I edited this down to one star after complaining to morning reception and getting what was basically a shrug and a “so what.” What a disastrous night.

The service was terrible, and the people working there were awful. Don’t make the mistake of booking a room here.

It’s noisy, and the beds don’t have curtains for privacy, though the rooms, showers, and bathrooms are clean and safe. There isn’t much of a hostel atmosphere for easily socializing with other travelers. It feels more like a cheap hotel option for Spanish people visiting from out of town. The staff in the attached cafe are rude and very slow. The city has lots of great little restaurants, so if I returned, I’d eat elsewhere.
