It's about a 6-8 minute walk from the bus terminal, and the location is great. The manager/owner took extra time to show me another way out of the city, instead of the usual coastal route suggested by other Camino apps. He also introduced me to a local app, Way of Saint James in Galicia, which covers just the Galicia region. I think it'll be useful for getting around and finding less usual paths.

I love the old buildings along this street, and ancla dorada is one of the Vigo ones that caught my eye. It's well looked after. Jorge the owner and the girl who works here were both really polite. The beds were lovely, and the cottony sheets and pillows were so comfortable I slept like I could never wake up!

The shower works. The rest was pretty grim: corridors that look like a grotty 1980s halfway house, and smoky rooms that made us switch rooms twice. Check-in is only available at one time of day, so you're left waiting outside. The street is noisy too, as other reviews say. Don't bring anyone you like. The room floors are uneven enough to make you feel like you're falling over. The rooms look like 1988, while the light fittings are from 2002, so I guess that's the modern touch. There's only one plug socket in the room, and it's hanging over your head. What?

It's really close to the bus and train station, right in the heart of the city. The room and bathroom were clean, with spotless sheets and towels. Some people leave bad reviews, but it costs only a little more than a hostel.

I expected worse for such a cheap room, but it was clean and modern. The staff were friendly too. There aren't many extras, and you have to use the stairs to reach floors two through four, but it's inexpensive, clean, and close to the train station.
