The hotel is very comfortable and in a spectacular spot. The restaurant was a big disappointment, though. The staff were polite and nice, but seemed to be on their own there. Our main courses were cold, tasteless, and seemed to come straight from the refrigerator. We couldn’t finish any of our plates.

The surroundings are beautiful, and breakfast was great, but the room was a disaster. The tap moved around, the pillows were awful, and the bed was average. There were disturbing voices and constant noise, and the floor was dirty. For the price, the room was very poor quality. We really regret that the place isn’t maintained properly.

We had a lovely 24-hour stop on the way from Valencia to Murcia. The rooms and food were amazing, and it’s just a short walk uphill to the castle.

The gardens are huge and peaceful, with roomy terrace rooms right among them. The food menu is short but clearly well looked after, and everything we ordered was good. The wine list is nearly three times as long, which is a nice extra. Staff were friendly and knew their way around both the food and anything else we needed. Definitely worth a visit.

The setting is what makes this hotel special, with scenic mountains all around and the Moorish fortress very close. It’s a lovely, peaceful place, and a good choice for a couple of nights.
