The room was small but just right for me, and the bed was clean and comfortable. Towels and extra blankets were available, the wifi worked really well, and they even lent me a wall charger for my cellphone. The bathroom was separate, but with only a couple of other rooms, I thought that worked out better. Getting to the property and figuring out which floor to go to was a little confusing at first. Once I found the reception a couple of floors up, check-in felt very welcoming. Booking was easy, and I paid by credit at a reasonable price. The management had a family feel that I really liked. They offered me a map and explained how to get around. It's a bit farther from the centre, but still walkable, with buses as another option.

This guesthouse is very old and run-down. We stayed two nights during the holidays and paid €36 per person per night. For that price, they could put money into improving the facilities and offering better service. They had no left-luggage office and didn't offer to hold our bags while we went sightseeing. I wouldn't recommend it.

The staff were friendly, but the shared bathroom was the biggest problem. The shower worked, though it wasn't clean, and anyone who's squeamish might feel uncomfortable using it, even with flip-flops. Wi-Fi is advertised, but the signal was so weak I could barely have a WhatsApp conversation. For work, you'd be better off using your own mobile data. The rooms are small and have a TV and sink.

We had a bit of a walk to the city center, though it was still manageable. What stood out was how helpful the staff were: they added extra beds for our group with less than a day's notice, then called us soon after we left to say we'd forgotten some trousers. The service was perfect. I went with a group of friends last week. I'd give it five stars if it weren't for the distance.
