Mosy Hotel

I booked, then left after finding mosquitoes and dirty bedsheets in the room after midnight. There wasn’t even one towel. I tried calling the front desk from the room, but nobody answered, so I went downstairs for help and found no one there. I asked for drinking water and was told to buy it on the 3rd floor. I ended up sleeping in my hallway clothes because the sheets were dirty. Check the room before paying if you book here.

The shower stalls are absurdly small, about 60 cm by 80cm, and a big column takes up part of the space. There’s only one towel for both face and body. The room fixtures seem to be imported from China and are damaged. The TVs have no remote and show no clear picture. If you do get a remote, you need to know Chinese, and there are no guidebooks in the hotel. Breakfast is made to order, but they don’t serve milk or juice. Staff said, “The machine does not work.” The food is oily and not advisable for anyone with health issues. If you want to throw away 2600 or 2800 birr, choose this hotel. Otherwise, I would have rated it -ve 5 if that option existed. The owner’s replies to reviews are another funny thing to read. I stayed one night and changed hotels the next day.

The location and price were great, but I got electric shocks in the shower. Exposed wires in there made this the scariest part of my trip to Adis Ababa. Another reviewer had already raised the same issue, and it still hadn’t been fixed. That says a lot about how the hotel treats guest safety. How can they leave something that shocks guests unresolved?

We felt at home at Mosy Hotel, where I stayed for around 10 days with 8 work colleagues. The staff were lovely and went beyond what we expected. Our rooms were very nice and clean, breakfast was great, and the staff were always available. Best in Addis!
