Sabon Hotel

The housekeeping women worked hard and were very cooperative, but I had a terrible stay. There were no basic supplies, not even shower gel or lotion, and I was charged for a tea bag. Staff kept asking me for money, and the restaurant even called to demand payment. Tipping should be my choice. Management seemed focused on getting cash instead of letting guests pay by signed bills. I would never stay at this hotel again. If you’re visiting in summer and can do without AC, you might consider it.

The staff made me feel like family, and the hotel felt like a home away from home. Everyone was kind, welcoming, and helpful. My room was very clean, and the food was amazing. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone.

I had a comfortable, wonderful stay. The room had a beautiful view, and the hotel is quiet despite being right on the main street. The restaurant food was delicious, and the staff were kind and helpful. Reception stood out for being especially professional and welcoming. I highly recommend it.

I was on a family transit in Addis and was assigned to Sabon. The room was okay and the reception staff friendly, but dinner service was awful. We waited over 90 minutes, and the food finally arrived at 1am. Worse than the delay, it was undercooked: the stir-fried meat was extremely chewy, the chicken curry smelled and tasted underdone, and the bolognese pasta was stiff. I complained mildly and sent the dishes back uneaten. They told me one of the cooks was absent, which wasn’t a good enough reason. Even water and a fruit platter weren’t provided unless I asked. There were no slippers in the rooms, and the blankets and sheets didn’t feel clean. I strongly don’t recommend this hotel, especially for a layover.
