Sowirad Hotel

There’s something happening every day here. I tried the buffet, and it was fast and affordable. The hotel is beside Ethiopian Skylight Hotel, or right across from the Ethiopian Aviation Academy. Worth checking out, then sharing what you think.

A convenient spot close to the airport, with good customer service. The receptionist especially was helpful.

I woke up around 1:00 a.m. when someone opened my room door from outside. When I asked what they wanted, the person, a hotel staff member or waiter, said they were looking for slippers. Opening a guest’s room without permission in the middle of the night is completely unacceptable, and it left me feeling unsafe as a paying customer. Hotels need to respect privacy and have strict procedures for entering rooms, especially at that hour. To me, this showed poor management, a lack of professionalism, and no regard for guest security. I strongly urge management to deal with this immediately. Based on what happened at Sawirad Hotel in Addis Ababa, I can’t recommend it to anyone who cares about safety and privacy.

The reception staff were very unprofessional. The sheets also had blood stains and weren’t clean, and basic items like a toothbrush weren’t provided.
