We got a good pizza, and the garden is pleasant. The hotel itself was cheap, but both rooms we booked were dirty. The shared toilets and showers were filthy, smelled strongly, and only had cold water.

The courtyard is a nice place to eat, with both Ethiopian and Western food, including pizza. The property was clean and mostly quiet during my one-night stay in November 2019. My room had no running water in the shower, though, and the 350 ETB discounted rate, down from the usual 400 ETB, didn’t make up for that. If you stay here, check the shower as soon as you arrive.

The restaurant does pretty good European food. Bring a torch, though, since power cuts are common in Aksum and there’s no backup generator.

The view is lovely, and it’s a great place to spend some time without spending much.
