Wondim, the owner, was friendly and always around to help. He arranged a pickup from another hostel where there was no water, then took me to the airport for a fair price. When I didn’t feel comfortable walking to dinner through a completely dark street with dogs, street bars, and drunk men urinating, he kindly accompanied me to the restaurant. The place is quiet and right in the city center. The facilities are old, but there’s a hot shower, a clean bed, WiFi, and a basic breakfast. I’d recommend it as good value budget accommodation for visiting Gondar.
