Hotel Haaga Central Park (ex.Best Western Plus Hotel Haaga)

The staff were welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable, and public transport links were good, with a 20-minute bus ride to Helsinki. Our room was basic and small. We stayed from 23 to 27 December over Christmas, and the rooms weren't cleaned during our visit, so we had to ask for fresh towels. A sauna was available, but no robes were provided. There was no safe in our room, and we were told the ones in the foyer weren't available to hotel guests. Breakfast was disappointing. The bacon was so overcooked it crumbled, and the scrambled eggs were rubbery. Making a sandwich from the available ingredients was a better option. I can only assume they were short-staffed over Christmas. I'd suggest staying somewhere closer to Helsinki.

The outside looked a little old when I arrived, so the pictures online had me wondering. Inside, though, it felt like a surprise box: the rooms were clean and comfortable, and had a relaxing atmosphere. The counter staff were excellent and polite. The restaurant was another pleasant surprise, with a fresh, healthy breakfast and good-value evening meals. The gym, pool, sauna, and wellness facilities were great too. It's about a 10-minute walk from the train station and around 15 minutes from central Helsinki. I can recommend this hotel.

The breakfast had a wide range of breads, milk, salads, baked vegetables, and fruit. The hotel also has plenty of facilities, including a fitness centre, indoor pool, and billiards.

We stayed from 20.08 to 23.08.25. The hotel is in a peaceful, leafy area, with grocery shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby, and good connections to the airport and city centre. It felt cozy and quiet, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The standard rooms have aged a bit, but ours was cozy and clean enough. Breakfast was great, with lots of balanced choices made with fresh ingredients, plus very tasty pour-over coffee. We especially appreciated the free access to the sauna, pool, and gym. We used the gym every day, and it was open around the clock.
