Solo Sokos Hotel Turun Seurahuone

The location worked really well for us, with the central market only a short walk away. We were glad we booked the king room: it felt huge next to the roughly 180-square-foot twin or basic rooms, and the bathroom was especially nice. Breakfast had a good range of choices and comfortable places to sit. We also liked the semi-private little nooks in the restaurant and lounge. Very happy with our stay, and I’d recommend it.

The staff were great, and breakfast had a good selection of quality food. Parking was easy enough, with several garages nearby. Our seventh-floor room was cozy and quiet, but the temperature was definitely above 20 even though that was the lowest setting. At this price, I expected the air conditioning to work.

The location was a real highlight. It’s a short, easy walk through the shopping area into the city, while the hotel itself is far enough away to stay quiet. As of June 2025, it’s also handy for the main bus routes. We had a family room for two adults and two kids aged 10 to 14, and there was plenty of space and cupboard storage for everyone. The bathroom was great, with both a tub and a rainfall-style shower. Every staff member we met was polite, professional, and helpful. Breakfast wasn’t the biggest spread, but the quality made up for it. A five-star stay for us.

There were some good things, including the location and the nicely decorated room, but a cockroach in the bathroom spoiled the stay. Reception barely reacted, which left me wondering if this had happened before. A lovely cleaner came to remove it, but nobody apologized. I’d recommend the hotel if the situation had been handled differently. I’ve now left feedback twice without getting a reply. One of my comments wasn’t even published or acknowledged, and I’m tired of writing about this again. We stayed one night in June 2025.
