The grounds by the lake are lovely, and the deck bar is a nice place to sit. Staff were kind, and the food and drinks were good for a hotel, with a decent wine selection. There isn't much to do nearby, though. I was in town for work. The hotel is large, but the rooms feel dated and are small. Mine was clean, which matters a lot, and thankfully had no old carpet like the hallways. I had two twin beds and felt like I was in a dorm, though the bed itself was comfortable. There was no AC, so I opened the window and that helped. It did the job for my trip, but I wouldn't stay here again.

I stopped by for a drink on the terrace, rather than staying overnight. It was a lovely afternoon, with a nice atmosphere and a beautiful spot right by the lake. I was using a wheelchair because of a broken ankle, but I was able to get around.

I went in early spring for a day of skating. The lake had been maintained and set up so the community could skate there. You could borrow skates inside the hotel for 20€. They also served brunch for visitors, though I can't remember exactly what it cost.

The gym could use some attention. It's a small room with dated equipment, and gives the impression it's only there so they can say they have one. Otherwise, the staff were great. Changing my room because of a heating issue was no problem. The room was a good size and the bathroom was great too. Breakfast was OK, and dinner was very nice. I'll definitely come back on my next trip to Finland.

The best value and quality I found was the indoor fine dining restaurant. Food and the experience vary a lot depending on which restaurant or area you go to, and on the time of your visit. Some sections of the restaurant complex are open while others are closed. The setting is beautiful and architecturally interesting.
