The family made me feel completely at home, and their children are lovely. Everything was clean, beautiful, and carefully looked after. I also really enjoyed the freshly cooked food each day. There’s plenty to do nearby, and the Vodafone internet worked perfectly, just as Ewelin had recommended. Her husband takes care of everything with real attention. I had a wonderful stay in the Bay of Plenty and would happily recommend it.

The view and setting were stunning, and each day we felt lucky to be there. We spent 8 days at this homestay and could easily have stayed for another 8. It’s a great chance to experience Fijian island life, with lots to do. Evelyne, Rosa, Jerry and Toki welcomed us warmly and shared many of their skills. The food was amazing, especially knowing much of it came from their garden or was caught by them.

We’ll always remember the time we spent with this lovely family. Evelyn welcomed us from the moment we arrived, and her two children and dog made us feel at home too. The meals were fresh and authentic, and Evelyn took time to tell us about her way of life. Yasawa lodges gives you a taste of Fijian culture away from the big resorts and tourist areas. It’s a homestay, so the facilities are simple, though we had what we needed. If you’re looking for a resort holiday, this isn’t the place, but for us it was an unforgettable experience. We’d recommend staying here. Vinaka vake levu.

Everything was perfect! I had one of the best holiday weeks of my life with my cousin. We saw the landscapes and sunset, went out by boat, and enjoyed diving, snorkeling and a barbecue. There were also activities with the family, in the jungle and forest, among the plants, and at the school. Look at the pictures!

The huts are up a small hill, so there’s a bit of a walk, but the view is nice. We had fun using the Hobie Cat as a paid activity, and walking to the school and village was interesting. The family was kind and really tried to make us feel welcome. The food was good, and so were the bed and mattress. Still, the huts are very basic and run down, and need renovation. At low tide there isn’t much to do, and there’s no beach nearby. It’s a very secluded spot.
