Aroha Taveuni Beachfront Bures

We used Aroha Taveuni Beachfront Bures as a base for exploring the island, from waterfalls and coastal walks to snorkelling. Coming back each day to the quiet, relaxed setting was just as nice. It’s a beautiful beachfront property with lovely views and comfortable rooms, and the staff were warm, organised, and helpful with airport transfers and local activity advice. We’d gladly come back.

A week at Aroha was a fabulous time. The staff were genuinely welcoming and knew what was happening locally. The bed was amazing, too. And sunsets at the bar or on the beach with a beer in hand are hard to beat. Louis and Coco, the house dogs, were friendly company!

The personal touches are what I’ll remember most, from the fresh tropical flowers around our bure and the resort to Aroha’s team greeting us with smiles. Vinaka vakalevu! The beachside accommodation was intimate, and the large bures were very comfortable. I loved the outdoor shower, and the kitchenette had all the little things that made our stay easier. We ate at the restaurant before and after diving and were always pleased with the food and that amazing view. If you can, ask about their famous caramel cake. We’d been planning to come to Taveuni to dive Rainbow reef for over a year, and had already settled on Aroha for our stay. I’m so glad we made it this year. It exceeded my expectations. It’s clear current owners Rod and Kathryn have built on an already lovely combination of great accommodation and a charming restaurant.

My wife and I ate dinner at Aroha every evening, and it felt like being welcomed into a friend’s home. The food was fresh, the atmosphere relaxed, and the conversation was great. Kat and Rod, the warm Australian owners, run the small, peaceful resort with real care. It’s beautifully set above the ocean, and the calm, personal feel makes it easy to slow down. Aroha was a perfect base for exploring Taveuni.
