Getting to Tokoriki was quick and easy, and that helped make it a better choice for us than heading farther up to Yasawa for a more remote stay and possibly better snorkeling or diving. The healthy house reef was full of life, with a short swim to reach it or a jet ski tow out and pickup. If you dive, Tokoriki diving is next door. Will runs a great operation, and the shop is a short walk through a beautiful resort. We had a waterfront room with a dipping pool, and the hotel itself is beautiful. The staff were always cheerful and helpful. I was worried by earlier food reviews, but the new head chef has, in my opinion, lifted the food to a very high level. We ate at both the main and Indian restaurants and were delighted with the quality and presentation. We lean vegan, though not strictly, and they were happy to accommodate our requests. We also had one meal at the more “exclusive” resort next door. It was an exceptional experience, but I didn’t notice a significant difference in the food preparation. Its atmosphere makes it worth a visit for at least one meal, and Sheraton guests can arrange that easily. This felt like the quintessential Fiji and South Pacific experience.
Lunch à la carte was the best food we had, and our meals were consistently delicious. We were on an inclusive package and felt the food was worth it; I can see why guests paying for each meal might be disappointed. We also loved how many cocktails we tried, especially the mango daiquiris. There can’t have been one left on the island after our stay. Snorkeling from Tokoriki beach was lovely, and a jet ski could tow us out to the reef and back whenever we wanted. The snorkel trip to Castaway was another highlight and great value. Captain Savé took us to farther reefs, and we had a brilliant time. The Ocean View room with plunge pool was simply stunning. From the moment we stepped onto the island, the clear water, soft sand, palms and friendly faces made it feel like a getaway. A huge thank you to Sera, Athie, Joni, Mes, Russi, Beth, Dallas, Asa, and Captain Lee. We’d live here if we could, so we’ll just have to come back. And take some bad reviews with a pinch of salt: it’s a four-star resort on a remote island. If a bit of grout is missing or a pillow needs fluffing, so be it. The setting is paradise, and the many lovely parts of the stay outshine the things that aren’t perfect.
The Castaway Island tour was amazing value, and there were other great tours too. The resort and its views were lovely, with a tasty buffet breakfast as well. The location feels far enough away to get that Fiji experience, but it’s still not too far to reach. We found the water incredibly clear and the snorkeling some of the best we’ve had. The staff and service were amazing. I’d highly recommend Sheraton Tokoriki. Great value for money if you’re heading to Fiji.
We had such a great time here, and next time we’ll stay longer. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was outstanding, and the staff were incredible. Chef Dinesh was wonderful, and it was a pleasure meeting Niumaia and Anna. “Uncle Bill” is my dad. Hope to see you all again soon. It opened in June 2014 after a major $18.5 million renovation. The place is fantastic, five stars from us. It’s very kid-friendly without being annoying, and while it’s not an Aman property, it’s still great. The staff and Fijian people in general are some of the nicest in the world. Definitely would go back.
We did a short hike over to Hideaway Beach, which was stunning, though it would definitely be better at high tide. The massages were amazing, a lovely way to unwind. Snorkeling straight off the beach was great, and even better when the jet ski towed us out. The water was crystal clear and full of marine life. We were celebrating our 10th anniversary and taking our first holiday with our eight-month-old daughter. We honestly had the best time and didn’t want to leave. The all-inclusive package felt absolutely worth it: the food and drinks were fantastic, everything was easy and seamless, and we could relax and enjoy the moments. Everyone paid so much attention to our little girl that we felt at home and comfortable. A special thank you to Napo from Tokoriki Transfers and Tours for taking us to the local village, school and Castaway Island. It was a meaningful experience and one of the trip’s highlights. What made the holiday so special, though, was the staff. We were a little nervous about our first overseas trip with our baby, but everyone made us feel welcome, supported and cared for. Huge thanks to Mitieli, Savi, Monti, Sam and Rebeka at the bar, Tali at check in, Asa, Iva, Lave and Esa in the restaurant, Kimi with our luggage, Iri the manager, Laitee in housekeeping, and the nannies Sooloo, Serina and Leila. I’m sorry if I’ve misspelled any names, and grateful to everyone else too. I’ve definitely missed a few! Thank you for giving our little family memories we’ll treasure. We can’t wait to return.
