Hôtel Restaurant Les Saladelles

There's nothing luxurious about the place, but it has character and feels honest, with good value. We called ahead looking for five separate rooms for our group, and the proprietors and staff helped us sort out what we needed. It's a bit off the beaten track, but worth staying at if you're nearby.

We were in a quiet little town among the Camargue salt fields, and found it pleasant enough. The hotel has an old-fashioned, family-run feel. Depending on your room, you may share a nicely renovated bathroom and shower with others on the floor. The beds are comfortable, while service varies with whoever's working, sometimes friendly and sometimes not. The food was better than I expected, made with local ingredients and care, and served on a pleasant patio or in a cozy dining room.

A quiet, down-to-earth place. Nothing too fancy.

We were tired travelers and this place worked out perfectly. The room, bed, and bedding were comfortable, and ours was clean. They also gave us a big, effective fan. We'd left our previous lodging because it was too hot, then stumbled on this family-oriented hotel. Our booked room had a problem, but they had a cancellation and let us upgrade to one with an ensuite bathroom for the same price, even though it was their last room.
