One downside for us was having no way to stay in the room if you’re awake before 7:15 and your partner is still sleeping. We had dinner here by accident over 20 years ago and the food was excellent then. The quality of what we got this time was good too, but having no vegetarian option feels a little outdated now.

In a small city with lovely, well-preserved medieval buildings, this is a beautiful old place. The food is fresh, delicious and nicely presented, with something for every budget, from the smallest menu to the gourmet one.

There’s no service and no drinks after 8 pm. There wasn’t any water in the room either, just chlorinated tap water.
