Hotel Mignon

The mattress was worn out and uncomfortable, and the room and bathroom were both small. There was a damp, smoky smell, and the floors, especially in the bathroom, weren’t clean. We booked because of the positive reviews, but our experience didn’t match them. The welcome at reception was friendly.

I didn’t try the breakfast, but the manager made me feel welcome right away. I don’t speak much French, yet he explained things clearly and answered my questions about town. He also knew a lot about Avignon’s history, which added something special to the visit. This was my first backpacking trip through France, and my room at Hotel Mignon was just right for me and very clean. The hotel was well maintained overall. I’m glad I got to explore Avignon both inside and outside the old walls. Thanks to the front desk manager for making my first solo trip easier and more enjoyable. I hope to stay here again.

For a two-star hotel, this had everything I could have wanted. It’s a charming, authentic little place in a fourteenth-century building, and even has AC. The room was very clean and comfortable. The main sights are all within walking distance, and public parking is just a minute away. I loved it and hope to return someday.

We picked this hotel because it’s downtown, which saved us time getting around Avignon. The staff were very friendly, breakfast was okay, and the parking was free, though not especially close. The building is a few hundred years old, so we understood that, but the room and other items needed a much more thorough cleaning. My husband got bedbug bites after sleeping topless. I was fine in my pajamas. The kettle wasn’t clean enough to use.
