Logis Hôtel Restaurant Les 2 Rives - A75, en bordure de rivière

From outside, the restaurant makes a welcoming impression on the riverbank. The menu, though, offered only three main courses. We tried two and were very disappointed. For a place that calls itself a gourmand establishment and charges accordingly, the food was bland and uninspired, and the portions were extremely small. The pasta was overcooked and falling apart, there was no sauce, and the minced pork was deep-fried. Hardly fine dining, and the worst meal we had in the region. We never said everything was fine, and the word 'gourmand' is on the sign outside. The restaurant seems unable to accept criticism too.

We weren't expecting much from a restaurant in a village étape, so this was a pleasant surprise. The greenery and peaceful atmosphere were unbelievable, and the food was nicely presented and tasted good. After lunch, we had a short nap on the benches beside the river. A wonderful stop on the A75.

The staff were very friendly during our hotel stay, but the food was dreadful and not what you'd expect from the region. The scallop starter arrived frozen, and when it came back out, it was still cold. The beef main was very tough, and the noodles were rubbery and flavourless. Disappointing for the price.

Love the setting, but it's a shame the food was terrible.
