We were upgraded to a very spacious suite, and the hotel grounds were beautiful. Its history gives it the feel of someone’s fabulous guest villa, and the location is perfect, close to everything. The staff were all amazing, especially the owner, who couldn’t have been nicer. They patiently helped us with train tickets, directions, and some mailing things. The included breakfast was yummy and super fresh. Stay there, you won’t regret it!

We spent two nights here in June during our Normandy trip, which started in Honfleur and ended in St. Malo before we took the train to Paris. Bayeux has a lot to offer and is a great base for visiting nearby WWII sites. The hotel is ideally placed for everything we wanted to see or needed. We were greeted warmly and shown around, with an explanation of how things worked. Our cozy room had access to the outdoor seating area, where we liked sitting before dinner. The immaculate grounds, flowers, and trees were lovely. We didn’t have time to try the heated pool because we were out touring for so long. Breakfast was lovely and delicious, although the croissants were just okay. I especially liked the warm food, even the green beans. There’s also a resident cat whose company we enjoyed. A couple of things in the room weren’t working: the towel warmer and the bathtub drain. I didn’t tell the hotel, so that was partly my fault since they couldn’t fix what they didn’t know about. There were artificial fragrance pods, for lack of a better term, in both the toilet area and bathroom. I don’t like those and wish they weren’t there, as they’re not good for your health. My one other suggestion is to offer an aperitif. Even red and white wine to enjoy by the pool, in the outdoor seating area, or in the indoor salon on a cold or rainy day would be a great addition. I realize it would mean extra work for the desk staff, but it’s really my only complaint about an otherwise wonderful place. On the first night we went down the road to a local bar for an Aperol spritz. The next evening, we bought a half bottle of rosé nearby, and the hotel kindly gave us a bucket of ice so we could enjoy it on the patio outside our room. We’d rather have spent that money at the hotel, but we made do the first evening and found a way to enjoy the property the next. Thank you for such a lovely stay. We hope to return when our travels bring us back to the area. Merci!

We only stayed one night at the end of August 2025, and already wish it had been longer. The hotel is beautifully located in Bayeux, with a lovely garden and pool, and our comfortable room had luxe linens and a really nice mattress. Breakfast was delicious. The staff were amazing when our rental car broke down. We had to leave it overnight in another city and take the train to Bayeux, so they arranged for a taxi to meet us at the station. The next day the owner made several calls to the rental company to help sort it out. With our broken, inadequate French, we couldn’t have managed that ourselves. We’ll be back.

Leah the cat even kept us company in the garden, where there’s a perfect little spot to relax. The rooms each have their own personality and are just right, and the whole place was exceptionally clean. The staff were amazing throughout. This was one of the top five hotels I’ve visited, and definitely the best of this trip to France. I expected another European tourist hotel with a great website, but it was even better than the photos. You can’t beat the location in Bayeux.

A great hotel with a good location in town and lots of cafes nearby. It’s easy to get on tours to Normandy sites and Abby St. Michel. You’ll remember your stay here for a long time, and the staff are great.
