The breakfast was fantastic, with pretty much everything you could want, though there were raw eggs and a poaching machine instead of scrambled eggs. We also enjoyed the excellent cuisine at dinner, even if the menu was rather limited. The Acour ALL booking app made reserving and paying easy for our night here on Dec 28th 2025, before a D-day tour in Normandy on the 29th. Our room was clean and spacious, but had no mini fridge or safe. The shower water was warm rather than hot, while the bathroom sink water was much hotter. The toilet sits in a water closet just inside the room door, with another door between it and the main bathroom and living area, which felt like an extra layer of security. The hotel was clean, the staff were great from check-in to check-out, and the area was quiet and safe. There are EV charging stations out front. It’s near the town center, though a bit of a walk. There’s a nice little lobby bar as well as a full restaurant serving dinner and breakfast. I’d definitely recommend Hotel Novotel for the value, service, and amenities.

The sofa bed wasn’t very comfortable for our third guest, which was the one downside. The rest of the stay went really well. The hotel was clean and comfortable, with a pleasant atmosphere, and things felt well organized. Staff were friendly, attentive, and professional, and the service level was high.

We found the hotel handy for visiting all five D-Day beaches, as well as the towns, monuments, museums, and cemeteries. Parking was free, secure, and safe. The room was a good size, with a comfortable bed, and it was cleaned and serviced very well every day. The double doors to the corridor and excellent double glazing kept night noise out. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The restaurant had a tasty, inventive menu and reasonable prices, apart from the wine. I’ll come back and stay here again.

The breakfast had a great spread of hot and cold options, fruit, and bakery items. We ate at Janjac four times, once for lunch and three times in the evenings. The food was good, but there was very little choice and the same menu each time. Rotating the daily menu would be a bonus. Staff were friendly throughout, and handled a huge party at dinner and the following breakfast while still making the other guests feel welcome. It’s a quiet spot outside the town centre, with convenient transport into the city and elsewhere. The hotel felt very welcoming and comfortable. Our room was large and airy, with a sofabed for extra seating, plus a chair and table. We were disappointed that the mini-fridge, and especially the in-room safe, had been removed.

The restaurant meals were excellent quality and great value, and I only wish I’d had longer to try the pool. I was here with colleagues on a battlefield tour around Normandy, and the Novotel Bayeux worked very well for us. The rooms had lovely bedding, a good temperature, and a quiet, peaceful feel for sleeping. There was plenty of parking. It’s about a 15-minute walk to historic Bayeux and a fantastic central base for touring the D Day beaches. I’d definitely stay here again.
