ibis Styles Beaulieu Sur Mer

The young woman working evenings was incredibly kind, easy to talk to, and had phenomenal customer service. I also appreciated the mini fridge, since I could buy a few groceries across the street and save money on nights I didn’t want to splurge. Pastries were left out during the day, which was a nice touch. The location was fabulous, directly across from the train station, so it was easy to explore other places in the South for the day. This part felt quiet and secluded, with breathtaking mountain and water views. Breakfast was okay, though the selection was limited compared with the two places I’d stayed before. I had a very hard time sleeping. The rooms weren’t soundproof in my experience: I could hear the man next door snoring, walking, and horking, plus furniture moving and doors slamming at all hours. I think some of the noise was chairs on balconies, but I could hear and feel it while trying to sleep, even with my patio door closed. I didn’t sleep a single night. The bed was also very uncomfortable and made my back pain worse, limiting how much sightseeing I could do. I asked if they could add another mattress topper, but I didn’t get one, or didn’t notice it if they did. I read reviews for bed comfort because of my back problems, and my experience didn’t match the positive reviews about the beds or soundproofing. If you’re sensitive to mold, I’d bring shower slippers. There was black mold on the shower floor tiles and in the corners. Laundry is handled by a third party, costs a lot, and takes two days, so I’d do it before or after staying here.
